The LBTEK Diffuse Reflection Fiber Probe integrates two LB74UV fiber collimation lenses, each equipped with a 10 mm filter slot and retaining ring, allowing easy installation or replacement of optical filters.
This probe not only enables diffuse reflectance spectroscopy but is also suitable for fluorescence spectrum measurements on solid surfaces. During fluorescence measurements, two filters can be installed — one in the excitation optical path to eliminate unwanted peaks from the light source, and the other in the detection optical path to block excitation light from the emission spectrum.
As illustrated, the light source is coupled to the left SMA905 port, collimated into a parallel beam to illuminate the sample surface. The reflected or emitted light from the sample is collected through the right port and transmitted via optical fiber to a measuring device (e.g., spectrometer LBS750). The probe’s optical design features a 45° angle between the excitation and detection axes, effectively collecting diffuse reflection while minimizing interference from specular reflection on the sample surface.
