Under the effect of Bragg diffraction, the LBTEK acousto-optic modulator produces only first-order diffracted light and transmitted light. It can be used as an optical switch (periodically switching the light at a set frequency) or as a variable attenuator (dynamically controlling the intensity of the transmitted or first-order diffracted light). It is suitable for applications such as laser marking, lithography, material processing, medical surgery, and micromachining. LBTEK offers both free-space and fiber-coupled acousto-optic modulators, allowing customers to choose according to their application scenarios. Matching RF drivers are also provided, capable of generating specific waveforms by inputting different modulation signals.
The LBTEK acousto-optic modulator can be used as an optical switch (periodically switching the light at a set frequency) or as a variable attenuator (dynamically controlling the intensity of the transmitted or first-order diffracted light). Please note that the product generates heat during operation and must be mounted on a thermally conductive fixture or equipped with a heatsink. LBTEK offers acousto-optic modulators for wavelengths of 355 nm, 450 nm, 532 nm, 780 nm, and 1040–1080 nm, along with optional matching RF drivers and power supplies.
