The LBTEK single-photon counter is a high-precision time measurement system capable of ultra-sensitive detection of weak optical signals at the single-photon level. It supports time-tag mode, enabling real-time recording of photon arrival times. The technology integrates signal processing, optoelectronic detection, and software operation, allowing precise measurement of time intervals between multiple signal events with picosecond-level time resolution.
Thanks to its powerful high-speed data storage and processing capabilities, the LBTEK single-photon counter achieves a saturation count rate of up to 500 Mcps. Combined with high-speed signal transmission technology and advanced software, it is ideally suited for applications such as fluorescence lifetime measurements, laser ranging, fiber-optic sensing, quantum optics experiments, nuclear physics research, and oceanographic studies.
The LBTEK time-correlated single-photon counter measures photon events from single-photon detectors over multiple signal cycles, collecting a large number of photon counts and time-stamped data. By overlaying these results on the same time axis, the system generates statistically meaningful histograms. Each histogram bin represents the photon count within a specific time window, directly reflecting the intensity of the optical signal.
In addition to histogramming, the LBTEK TCSPC supports time-tag mode, enabling real-time recording of both time and channel information for each event. It achieves 16 ps time resolution and maintains a dead time of no more than 10 ns. With its high-speed data storage and processing capability, it delivers a saturation count rate of up to 100 Mcps. Data are transferred via a USB 3.0 interface to the PC, where users can perform histogram construction, curve fitting, parameter configuration, data storage, and in-depth analysis.
