LBTEK air-float vibration-isolation optical tables incorporate advanced Japanese isolation technology. The tabletop is precision-machined and finished with a matte stippled surface, achieving a flatness of 0.05–0.10 mm per 600 × 600 mm area and a surface roughness of 0.8 μm. The frame is available in four-leg and six-leg configurations according to tabletop size and is reinforced with connecting rods for excellent structural rigidity.
The isolation system uses an air spring design, where compressed air fills the internal chamber to form a stable air column. Vibration damping is achieved through pressure variations in the compressed air inside the rubber airbag, delivering a working natural frequency in the range of 0.5–3 Hz with excellent resonance damping performance and quick response. The air springs adopt a clever dual-chamber design, where the auxiliary chamber reduces vertical stiffness and a throttle orifice between the air spring body and the auxiliary chamber provides damping. When the air spring is disturbed and deforms, a pressure difference forms across the orifice: small during slow displacement and larger during rapid displacement. As compressed air flows through the orifice, it encounters localized resistance, dissipating energy and effectively reducing vibrations.
In addition to the isolation structure, the system includes a pneumatic control system with branded components to ensure reliability. The base of the frame integrates leveling feet and casters to accommodate different laboratory layouts. The tabletop consists of a high-magnetic-permeability stainless-steel top plate, isolation cup layer, central honeycomb core, and bottom steel plate, preventing liquid and contaminant ingress into the honeycomb structure and blocking airflow between threaded holes. The isolation frame beneath the tabletop effectively attenuates vibrations above the natural frequency range, providing a stable platform for precision experiments.
LBTEK provides high-precision air-float vibration-isolation optical tables, supplied as standard with a low-noise air compressor. The tabletop is made of a 5 mm thick magnetic stainless-steel plate, precision-machined and finished with a matte surface to achieve a flatness of 0.05 mm/m² and a surface roughness of 0.8 μm. The tabletop is available in 200 mm or 300 mm thickness, with M6 threaded holes spaced and drilled to a depth of 25 mm. LBTEK offers optical tables in sizes ranging from 1200 mm × 900 mm to 4000 mm × 1500 mm. For special requirements such as custom dimensions, please contact us for tailored solutions.
