LBTEK continuous variable neutral density (ND) filters provide linearly adjustable attenuation by rotating the coated region. The structure consists of a UV fused silica substrate with a 270° metallic coating (CrNiFe alloy). The OD value increases linearly counterclockwise with rotation angle, designed for operation in the 240–1200 nm wavelength range. The OD ranges available are 0.04–2.0, 0.04–4.0, or 0.04–6.0, with a linear relationship between OD and angle θ, expressed as OD = k·θ, where k = 0.0073, 0.0147, or 0.0221 respectively. Standard diameters include Ø25 mm, Ø50 mm, and Ø100 mm. In addition to standard continuous ND filters, LBTEK also offers a variety of customization options. For specific customization requests, please contact LBTEK technical support.
The LBTEK neutral density filter mount allows NDFR series filters with a Ø7.5 mm central hole to be mounted onto the rotation axis. To install the filter, first use the included 1.5 mm hex wrench to tighten the side locking screw of the NDFR-PM, securing the rotation. Then, use the included 2 mm hex wrench to remove the silver hex screw, place the filter between the two spacers, and reinstall the wheel and screw assembly. Please ensure that the flat washer and wave spring are placed back in their original order before tightening the screw. One 1.5 mm hex wrench and one 2.0 mm hex wrench are included.
