The LBTEK laser beam expander optical adjustment mount features four adjustment axes, enabling pitch/yaw angle adjustment as well as X/Y linear translation. It employs high-elasticity dual tension springs and a unique locking mechanism to provide long-term stability for optical systems and equipment. Four dual tension springs with a wire diameter of 0.8 mm are used, each capable of delivering 23 N of tension at the pitch/yaw balance position. The floating front plate includes two M3 locking screw holes; once angle adjustments are complete, the locking screws can be tightened with a 2.5 mm hex key to securely lock the floating front plate for long-term stability. Relative freedom of movement between the front and rear plates for pitch/yaw adjustment is constrained by a single stainless-steel plate, allowing the mount to carry heavier optical components and ensuring superior stability, such as when supporting large-aperture laser beam expanders.
For the X/Y linear translation axes, additional centering lock knobs are included, allowing the central translation structure to be locked directly after alignment. Both sides of the mount are equipped with M6 threaded holes, enabling post extension for use in free-space applications. In addition, LBTEK provides multiple mounting flanges, such as threaded flanges with M22×0.75 mm, M30×1.0 mm, and M34×0.10 mm threads, as well as smooth-bore flanges with apertures of Ø40.5 mm, Ø30 mm, Ø25.4 mm, and Ø12.7 mm, to accommodate a wide variety of optical components.
The LBTEK laser beam expander optical adjustment mount is designed for mounting large-aperture laser beam expanders. The AMM4-LBE-M22 model is equipped with an M22×0.75 mm threaded mounting flange, the AMM4-LBE-M34 model with an M34×1.0 mm threaded flange, and the AMM4-LBE-SM1.5 model with an SM1.5-threaded flange for mounting the VBE-532-2-10X beam expander. Additional flange specifications are sold separately, and the flange can be replaced by loosening the four M3 screws with a 2.0 mm hex key. Pitch/yaw adjustment is achieved using two M6×0.25 precision screws. The AMM4-LBE-M22 provides ±2° of angular adjustment with 0.27° per turn, while the AMM4-LBE-M34/SM1.5 provides ±3° of angular adjustment with 0.19° per turn. The threaded bushings are equipped with a locking mechanism, adjustable with a 2.0 mm hex key. Additionally, the front plate for pitch/yaw adjustment is fitted with two M3 threaded holes for locking; once angular adjustment is complete, the locking screws can be tightened with a 2.5 mm hex key. The relative motion between the front and rear plates is constrained by a solid stainless-steel plate, ensuring higher stability.
X/Y translation is adjusted by two M6×0.25 precision screws, with a travel range of ±1.0 mm. Each axis is equipped with a centering lock knob, which allows the central translation stage to be locked securely for long-term stability once adjustment is complete. (Note: when the centering lock knob is tightened, it must be loosened again before further X/Y adjustment.) Each side of the mount has an M6 threaded hole for post mounting. Every LBTEK laser beam expander optical adjustment mount is supplied with one 2.0 mm hex key and one 2.5 mm hex key.
