LBTEK offers silver-coated metallic concave mirrors with diameters of Ø12.7 mm, Ø25.4 mm, and Ø50.8 mm. These mirrors are well-suited for broadband applications such as beam focusing, collimation, collection, and imaging. Metallic concave mirrors provide high reflectivity across a wide spectral range without introducing chromatic aberrations, as the reflection occurs at the metallic surface.
The silver coating, however, is prone to oxidation and discoloration in high-humidity environments. To address this, LBTEK applies a SiO₂ protective layer to isolate the silver film from direct contact with air. While this coating improves durability, silver mirrors should still be stored and used only in low-humidity, room-temperature environments.
Always wear latex gloves or finger cots when handling to prevent contamination from oils or residues.
Handle with care and avoid touching the reflective surface or edges.
