N-BK7 ground glass diffusers can be used in a wide range of applications requiring Gaussian scattering. During use, the frosted polished surface should face away from the light source. LBTEK ground glass diffusers are available in three sizes: Ø12.7 mm, Ø25.4 mm, and Ø50.8 mm, with options for single-sided or double-sided frosted surfaces. Single-sided diffusers are offered in both uncoated and AR-coated versions for 400–700 nm, while custom AR coatings for 700–1100 nm and 1100–1700 nm are also available. LBTEK provides a variety of frosted surface specifications to achieve different scattering effects, ranging from coarse to fine. Generally, coarse grits (120, 220) produce stronger diffusion but lower transmission, whereas fine grits (600, 1500) reduce diffusion while providing higher transmission.
