The LBTEK broadband variable polarizing beamsplitter integrates an achromatic half-wave plate (mounted in an RM05 rotation mount) with a broadband polarizing beamsplitter cube (mounted in a 30 mm cage cube).
A top index mark indicates the beam path orientation. The fast axis of the half-wave plate is factory-aligned with the 0° index mark on the rotation mount and locked in its initial position so that the incident polarization remains unchanged. By loosening the lock with the included spanner wrench, the half-wave plate can be rotated, allowing continuous adjustment of the transmitted intensity of linearly polarized light.
