LBTEK Gradient Refractive Index Lenses are designed to be used with fiber optic ferrules. After inserting the corresponding ferrule and lens into the ferrule tube, the distance can be adjusted and then fixed using optical adhesive. The LBTEK Gradient Refractive Index Lens is available in two length options: 0.23 pitch and 0.29 pitch. Different pitches are suited for different applications (1 pitch corresponds to the length of one cycle of the working wavelength; for more details, please refer to the technical specification label). The 0.23 pitch is used for fiber alignment, and the 0.29 pitch is used for fiber coupling. The 0.23 pitch lens has an 8° beveled edge on one side to increase back reflection loss when used for fiber alignment, while the 0.29 pitch lens has 0° beveled edges on both sides, ensuring better alignment when coupling fibers.
