LBTEK Super Achromatic Wave Plates (SAWP) are made from a combination of 3 layers of quartz waveplates and 3 layers of magnesium fluoride waveplates. The delay and angle of the 6 waveplates are rigorously designed and controlled to achieve the desired achromatic effect within the specified wavelength range. When the phase delay is π, these super achromatic waveplates are commonly used to rotate the polarization direction of linearly polarized light. When the phase delay is π/2, they are commonly used to convert linearly polarized light into circularly polarized light.
Unlike traditional single-wavelength waveplates, super achromatic waveplates are not limited to specific working wavelengths and can achieve polarization state conversions for light at any wavelength within the design range. Compared to traditional achromatic waveplates, super achromatic waveplates offer a broader achromatic range, better meeting customer needs.
The standard super achromatic waveplates have a design wavelength range of 325-1200 nm, with available phase delays of λ/4 and λ/2, and are installed in a standard SM1 lens tube.
LBTEK Super Achromatic Wave Plates are made by bonding 3 layers of quartz waveplates and 3 layers of magnesium fluoride waveplates. The achromatic effect across an ultra-wide spectrum is achieved by controlling their relative angles. The standard super achromatic waveplates are mounted in a standard SM1 lens tube, with the surface engraved with the product model, phase delay, design wavelength, and fast axis direction, making it easy for users to quickly identify and use the waveplate.
