LBTEK quartz air-gap zero-order quarter-wave plate is made of two quartz plates with a spacer in between, where the fast axes of the two quartz plates are perpendicular to each other, and the phase difference between them is π/2. The waveplate is pre-installed in a black anodized bracket for easy installation and use. Quarter-wave plates are commonly used to convert linearly polarized light into circularly polarized light. Compared to the bonded quartz crystal zero-order waveplates, the air-gap zero-order waveplate has an air gap formed by a spacer between the two quartz plates. This structure is suitable for high-power laser applications. LBTEK offers quartz zero-order waveplates with clear apertures of Ø10.0 mm and Ø20.0 mm. The Ø10.0 mm waveplates are available with both one-inch mounts and SM05 threaded mounts, while the Ø20.0 mm waveplates are available with only one-inch mounts. Additionally, LBTEK provides polymer true zero-order half-wave plates and quarter-wave plates, which are less affected by wavelength shifts and incident angles.
LBTEK zero-order quarter-wave plates are insensitive to temperature and have a delay of λ/4. They are commonly used to convert linearly polarized light into circularly polarized light. When the polarization direction of the linearly polarized light forms a 45° angle with the fast axis of the waveplate, the transmitted light becomes circularly polarized. All LBTEK waveplates are mounted in a black anodized aluminum ring, with fine lines engraved on the front and rear surfaces of the housing to indicate the fast axis direction of the waveplate. The circumference of the housing is engraved with the waveplate model, delay value, design wavelength, and other relevant details.
