A plano-convex lens has one convex surface and one flat surface, providing a positive focal length. It is typically used to reduce beam size, decrease focal length, or magnify images. To minimize spherical aberration, the plano-convex lens should be oriented so that the curved surface faces the incoming collimated beam when focusing, while the flat surface faces the point source when collimating. LBTEK manufactures a variety of lenses using N-BK7, the most common optical material, widely applied in the visible and near-infrared spectral ranges. The 780 nm V-coating provides lower reflectance and higher damage threshold at the operating wavelength, making it suitable for diode lasers and applications where light needs to pass through complex optical systems.
LBTEK Plano-Convex Lenses feature positive focal lengths and are commonly used for imaging or beam collimation applications. They are manufactured from RoHS-compliant N-BK7 glass, the most widely used material for high-quality optical components, particularly suitable for the visible and near-infrared spectral ranges. All LBTEK circular lenses can be mounted in LBTEK standard lens tubes, fixed lens mounts, or various coaxial mounting plates, allowing customers to choose the most suitable installation method for different application scenarios.
