BBO (Beta-Barium Borate) crystal is one of the most outstanding nonlinear optical materials available today, renowned for its exceptional nonlinear optical properties and wide spectral transmission range. Grown by advanced solution growth methods, BBO crystals feature excellent optical homogeneity and superior performance, making them widely used in laser frequency conversion, ultrafast laser systems, and precision optical measurement.
The most remarkable feature of BBO crystal is its excellent nonlinear optical performance. With a relatively large nonlinear coefficient (d₁₁ = 2.3 pm/V), it enables highly efficient second harmonic generation (SHG), third harmonic generation (THG), as well as optical parametric oscillation (OPO) and other nonlinear processes. Its wide transmission range (190–3500 nm), covering from deep UV to near-infrared, combined with a high laser damage threshold of up to 1 GW/cm², makes it an ideal choice for high-power laser systems. In addition, BBO crystal provides outstanding optical uniformity (Δn ≈ 10⁻⁶/cm) and excellent thermal stability, ensuring consistent performance under varying environmental conditions.
Our BBO crystal products undergo rigorous quality control, including optical homogeneity inspection, phase-matching angle accuracy verification, and laser damage threshold testing. They are available in multiple cutting orientations (Type I, Type II phase-matching), with dimensions ranging from 5 × 5 × 1 mm to 20 × 20 × 15 mm, and can be customized with optical coatings (AR/HR). These crystals are widely applied in ultrafast laser systems, laser display technology, spectroscopic instrumentation, and scientific research setups, earning global recognition for their stable performance and reliable quality.
Notes: For best performance, store and operate BBO crystals at 25 °C with 40%–60% relative humidity. If the crystal surface becomes contaminated, gently clean it with >99% alcohol and lint-free lens tissue. Avoid rough fabrics, water, or abrasive cleaners to prevent coating damage.
