The LBTEK fiber polarizer is constructed using optical fiber, a collimator, and a polarizer. By precisely aligning the fiber axis with the polarizer axis, it can produce linearly polarized light with a high extinction ratio. Fiber polarizers can be used in non-polarization-maintaining (non-PM) single-mode fiber systems to generate linearly polarized output, or in polarization-maintaining (PM) single-mode fiber systems to attenuate orthogonal polarization components, thereby enhancing the extinction ratio of the polarization signal.
LBTEK fiber polarizers use 2.0 mm narrow-key connectors to ensure precise mating between connectors and prevent degradation of the extinction ratio during transmission. The polarizers are available in a wide range of center wavelengths from 780 nm to 2000 nm and with various connector types. They are widely applied in fiber optic gyroscope systems, PM fiber amplifiers, fiber lasers, high-speed communication systems, and instrumentation. LBTEK also offers customized solutions, allowing users to specify different wavelengths and fiber lengths. For detailed requirements, please contact us.
The LBTEK PM fiber input polarizer features both input and output fibers as polarization-maintaining single-mode fibers. This polarizer is suitable for fiber network transmission and measurement applications, including polarization analysis, polarization monitoring and control, polarization mode dispersion (PMD) monitoring, and optimizing the polarization extinction ratio, such as in PM fiber amplifiers, fiber lasers, and high-speed communication systems and instrumentation. LBTEK also provides SM/PM patch cords and collimators with pigtail connectors, which integrate seamlessly with our fiber polarizers and polarization devices.
