The LBTEK single-mode adjustable optical attenuator is a passive optical device designed to reduce optical signal power, preventing excessive input power that could damage receiving equipment. LBTEK offers single-mode adjustable attenuators for various wavelengths, each equipped with two lenses and an attenuating device. One lens collimates the input light from the fiber, while the other lens focuses and couples the collimated light back into the fiber. The attenuation is achieved by adjusting a screw knob that shifts the attenuating device between the two lenses, thereby reducing the light intensity to the desired output power level. Single-mode adjustable optical attenuators can be applied in optical communication systems, fiber testing instruments, and other fields.
