Mach-Zehnder Interference Setup
Image Recognition
The basic principle of the LBTEK Fourier Transform Image Recognition System is as follows: A coherent laser light source is used to input the target image and reference image in parallel to the coherent light processing system through the Mach-Zehnder interferometer. Using the Fourier transform of the lens, the complex amplitude distribution of the reference image and the target image is obtained on the frequency spectrum plane. The corresponding power spectrum is then formed by CMOS1 and input to the LCD screen of the spatial light modulator. After another Fourier transform by the lens, the correlation output is formed and received by another CMOS2. The degree of correlation between the target image and the reference image is determined by observing the brightness and blur of the bright spot (correlation peak) formed by the two images, thereby identifying the image under test.
Note: This teaching system is shipped as components, and users can operate based on the experimental manual. Installation services are available at an additional cost. t.
