Photorefractive Crystal Recording Storage
4f System Angular Multiplexing
The LBTEK Volumetric Holographic Storage Experiment uses the angular multiplexing method to store sequential images. The light carrying the image information to be stored is typically called the signal light. Another reference light interferes with the signal light, and the photorefractive effect of the recording medium (photorefractive crystal or photopolymer) forms a volumetric hologram, completing the information storage. By adjusting the optical path angle, after passing through the 4f system, the reference light forms corresponding interference holograms at different angles and positions within the storage crystal, enabling angular multiplexing storage in the crystal medium. During the reproduction reading process, the diffraction principle of light is used, and the same reference light as before is employed for addressing, thus reproducing the information stored in the medium.
